Opportunities

There are endless avenues for gospel ministry in Kraków.

Here are a few specific needs and opportunities.

Building fund

Kraków is a prominent Roman Catholic city filled with church buildings that showcase and communicate different periods in history. So it is sometimes difficult to explain to locals and those lured by the obvious architectural attractions why our Sunday worship services have taken place in rented offices, Jewish temples, and a Ukrainian Help Centre that used to be a restaurant. When people ask, “Where is your church?” they’re really saying, “Point me to a steeple.”

Student ministry

Student ministry is an effective way to reach people with the gospel. Kraków is a university city with many significant universities, including the Jagiellonian University, one of the oldest universities in the world. As a church in a university city, it is important that we tap into this opportunity.

But we need missionaries to help us. We would love for an ordained pastor to start a university ministry modeled on the Reformed University Fellowship. Our plan is to start a university ministry in one or more of the universities of Kraków.

Church planting

God calls the church to disciple the nations. The saying that the harvest is ready but the workers are few is true in our context.

God has provided a tremendous opportunity to plant more confessional Reformed churches in Poland’s cities. Our desire is to plant a church in the 16 largest cities of Poland.

Currently, we have church plants in 3 of these cities. We need people and resources to plant an additional 12 churches.

“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?
And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!’”

– Romans 10:14-15
